Cabot's Indonesian carbon black plant expansion project officially breaks ground

On December 9, it was learned from Cabot Corporation that Boston-(BUSINESS WIRE)-November 21, 2019--The previously announced expansion of the Chillong Carbon Black Plant in Indonesia officially broke ground today. The expansion will add approximately 80,000 metric tons of annual production capacity. The project is expected to be completed and put into production in 2021.

According to reports, this new capacity will bring reliable local high-quality carbon black products to the growing demand for carbon black in Indonesia and throughout Southeast Asia (an increase of 4 to 5 percentage points per year).
